Councils agree no evictions due to Bedroom Tax
Two Councils have agreed to tenants' demands that no one should be evicted due to benefit cuts. Dundee Council agreed not to evict anyone for at least one year see press report. Brighton Council also agreed not to evict anyone hit by the bedroom tax - report here.
DCH and Benefit Justice campaigners are demanding other Councils agree not to evict or take legal action against anyone in arrears due to benefit cuts.
Councillors can side with local residents to oppose these attacks on benefits, linking with other Councils and, as strategic housing authority, also demand other local landlords do not evict due to benefit cuts.
