Damning criticism of Government on housing
Government's housing failures are under fire from the National Audit Office (NAO) and the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH).
CIH show that 79 per cent of government housing investment now subsidises the private housing market, with most public money for 'social housing going to shared ownership and other unaffordable development - see CIH report.

The NAO says benefit cuts and caps are driving the 60 per cent rise in homelessness since 2011, which now costs the public sector at least £1 billion a year (and much more in human suffering and damaged lives) - see NAO report.

We need investment in council housing!
