Independent ballot against loss of council homes
Tenants voted overwhelmingly against redevelopment plans that mean the loss of 74 council homes, in a ballot organised by local trade unions.
In a formal organised ballot conducted by Waltham Forest Trades Council, 103 tenants opposed council plans for Fred Wigg and John Walsh towers. Local MP John Cryer has now agreed to take up tenants concerns with the Labour-run Council. See local report here.
