Protest at housing benefit debate
A protest outside Parliament called at short notice to coincide with the MPs debate on housing benefit saw an impressive turnout of over 60 people including tenants from as far away as Winchester and Yorkshire. The protest was addressed by MPs and supported by a number of voluntary organisations. The demo followed an organising meeting called by the Council Housing Group of MPs, which agreed to co-ordinate campaigning against cuts to our rights and benefits, including holding further lobbies and public protest events.
