Local opposition to reform grows |
The government proposals to end lifetime tenancies leave the choice up to councils. DCH is calling on all local authorities to commit to refusing to implement these draconian reforms; some already have. Local groups up and down the country have also been getting out and making our voices heard. When the Housing Minister visited Haringey he was met by protesters (see photo). Meetings to protest about housing reforms were held all over the country from Norwich to Lancaster. Cambridge Council passed a motion expressing '...its complete opposition to any change in the tenure of council tenants...'
