Stop privatisation; improve existing and build a new generation of first class council housing
Budget day action for homes and Summit 25 November
As Government housing policy collapses, campaigners are pushing for action on housing on Budget day 22 November, and at the national summit on 25 November.

Enforced sell-off of council homes on the open market, and extending right to buy to housing associations, are On Budget Day, 22 November, a protest rally 12 noon at Parliament Square outside parliament, will demand action to control rents and invest in council housing. See Budget for Homes.

Then in a meeting in Parliament committee room 17 at 6.30pm on Budget Day, campaigners, tenants and trade unions will meet MPs including shadow ministers, to discuss what is in the budget, and demand action for the homes we need.
Arrive early to get through security and ensure a seat.

On 25 November a housing summit, organised by Homes for All which includes Defend Council Housing, will link up tenant groups and campaigns locally and nationally, to support united campaigning and demands for action.
The Homes for All summit 25 November will include speakers from Grenfell, fire fighters, private renters groups, housing association and council tenant campaigns and others. A workshop on Universal Credit and benefit cuts, will be led by Southwark Group of Tenants Organisations plus Paula Peters of Disabled People Against Cuts.
