Stop privatisation; improve existing and build a new generation of first class council housing
Fight for Homes@Parliament 3 May
Housing campaigners from across the country will descend on Parliament on Tuesday 3rd May as the controversial Housing bill returns to the Commons. The protest will involve tenants of all tenures, trade unions and politicians, organised as Kill the Housing Bill -see leaflet here.

Growing opposition to the Housing Bill includes amendments by the Lords challenging flagship policies -see Lords amendments including Starter Homes and the Pay to Stay tax. A report on Right to Buy from the Commons Public Accounts Committee is very critical, with 'pressing' questions about the bill.

Bristol, Wolverhampton, Nottingham, Sheffield, Harlow and Cambridge are among areas from across England coming to assemble 12 - 2pm outside at Old Palace Yard SW1P 3JY. From 3-7pm protestors will meet with MPs, Lords and other supporters in Committee Room 12. Areas will co-ordinate visits to MPs to discuss opposition to the Bill.

The campaign in a letter to all MPs sent this week, says:
'We welcome many of the amendments passed by the Lords, but remain extremely worried about the overall impact of this Bill which is detrimental, and therefore cannot see any positive reason to support even an amended version.' Letter to MPs here.
