Kill the Housing Bill - campaign gathers strength
The Housing Bill which undermines the existence and future of council housing, is coming under attack in the House of Lords - see critics of Housing Bill in Lords.
To strengthen opposition, tenants and trade unions have invited Lords to hear evidence against the Bill on Tue 2nd February 5pm in Room 4a, House of Lords. Campaigners are contacting Lords individually, inviting them to hear the case against the Bill. Almost 1,000 joined a London march against the Billon 30 January see video report and reports and pictures here.
Opposition is growing fast, with new groups and areas joining the campaign daily: many will come to give evidence on 2nd Feb. Plans include a national march against the Bill on 13 March: leaflet here - order leaflets from info@defendcouncilhousing.org.uk.
